How can you condense the story of a life, recorded as novel, into a short poem? My attempt is "The Rocker", just out, in Weaving the Terrain: 100-Word Southwestern Poems, Dos Gatos Press, Albuquerque, 2018. It is a depiction of a time of despair during my grandmother's girlhood in the early 1900's in the Jornada del Muerto, New Mexico.
